Wallpaper and Light Switches – What are the Options?

Make it match

With the continued design trend of having key walls within a room decorated with a bold, statement piece of wallpaper plus the ever growing variety of the designs that wallpaper is now available in, which include geometric shapes, bold floral designs and faux natural textures, it is so vital that the correct light switches and plug sockets are selected.  With the correct choice the design can be enhanced rather than distracted from.

In 2017 design experts have predicted that wall trend designs will see the continued use of botanical styles with a focus on birds, butterflies and wild flowers and the growing use of exotic tropical designs.  These designs, along with a continuation of texture wallpaper, with marble design a huge trend and metallic design, especially copper tones will be the main choices for 2017.

WHAT ARE MY ELECTRICAL ACCESSORY OPTIONS?

With our 7 premium collections of handcrafted designer light switches in an industry leading number of finishes we are sure to have a style that compliments the wallpaper.  A very popular choice with interior designers over the last few years is our range of modern light switches from the Crystal collection.   This collection has been designed to allow wallpaper or other wall treatments to be clearly visible through our transparent plates.  It is designed and manufactured with a strong, durable, scratch resistant acrylic that not only protects the wallpaper but can enhance it.  With a selection of rockers, toggles or dimmers in a variety of finishes the Crystal collection has helped ensure that wallpaper designs and their impact isn’t interrupted and yet still allows switches and sockets to be placed in their most convenient position.

It’s not just our transparent Crystal collection that works well with wallpaper.  Our Penthouse collection is not only screwless but also the flushest plate available.  No screws and extremely flush enable this collection to blend well into the design.  Our Penthouse in a Matt black finish has recently been located on a wall with a stylish monochrome wall paper design and cleverly blends in and looks part of the wallpaper.

That’s not to say blending the electrical accessories into the wallpaper is the only option.  We have recently been used in a showhome for leading Georgian Interior Designer, Latham Interiors in Bath, in which they selected the satin nickel finish from our Penthouse collection, to compliment the stunning wallpaper ‘Free Fall’ by Juliette Travers, for the power outlets they utilised the modern plug sockets of the Crystal collection

Whatever your choice of wallpaper, whether flowers or marble finish, you can be confident that one of our vast selection of modern light switches from our 7 designer collection and wide range finishes, we will have a style that will blend in or not!
