This year, Wandsworth Electrical proudly marks 120 years of delivering British engineering and craftsmanship to some of the most prestigious spaces in the world. Since our humble beginnings in Birmingham in 1904, we’ve grown into a brand known for luxury, innovation, and a deep commitment to quality.
For over a century, we’ve been designing and making premium, tailor-made electrical accessories that blend timeless design with modern technology. Our reputation is built on the expertise of our dedicated team of designers, craftspeople and technicians, who bring passion, precision, and artistry to every product.
Each piece is handmade in Britain using the finest materials and traditional techniques, then rigorously tested to meet the highest industry standards. This attention to detail reflects our core values of British innovation, technical excellence, and world-class craftsmanship.
Founded in 1904 by Edward Thomas Davies, Arthur Reynolds, and Francis John Ritchie, Wandsworth Electrical emerged during a time when electricity was beginning to transform daily life. As demand grew, so did we—expanding our product range and manufacturing capabilities to stay ahead of a rapidly changing industry.
Innovation has always been at the heart of our work. From our first patent in 1906 for improvements to tumbler switches, to the 1998 launch of our patented Infinity Collection with its groundbreaking screwless plate design, we’ve continually pushed boundaries to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
From the second half of the 20th century and into the 21st, we delivered a program of modernisation across our facilities. Adding CNC machining and just in time production management allowed us to improve efficiency and introduced new product lines. In 2004, we embraced building control technology with the launch of Wandsworth Smart Controls, moving confidently into the digital age and smart buildings.
Our work can be seen in some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We’re especially proud to be part of the transformation of the former US Embassy into The Chancery Rosewood Mayfair, set to open in 2025. This exciting project joins a stellar portfolio that includes the RIBA National award-winning King’s Cross Gasholders and NLA Best Overall & Conservation award-winning Battersea Power Station — landmarks that showcase the strength of our design and manufacturing capabilities.
“It’s a privilege to supply so many world-class projects. We thrive on challenge — taking every design brief and using our heritage and innovation to create something truly unique. Our products are made to enhance any space, whether classic or contemporary.”
– Adam Sherry, Managing Director, Wandsworth Group
