Lympstone Manor is the Georgian Grade II listed Manor that overlooks the Exe estuary. Originally known as Courtlands House it began as a farmhouse but subsequently in the 1760’s was taken over by the banking dynasty Barings and extended into a luxurious home. Having undergone a two year, £8.5 million refurbishment, it has been transformed by Exeter raised, Michelin star chef Michael Caines, into a contemporary country house hotel and restaurant. Featuring 21 exquisitely designed bedrooms, each of which is named after birds of the estuary, the Hotel aims to be the leading luxury retreat in East Devon and the whole UK.
Designed by leading London interior design practice Meraki Design, who were briefed to deliver a style based on Restoration Hardware, an American home-furnishings company that inspired Michael Caines. With the interiors featuring hand-painted watercolour wallpaper, featuring local bird life and nautical maps. Large floor-to-ceiling French windows casting natural light, with modern furnishings providing a warm beige and silver-grey colour scheme. Each of the bedrooms is individually styled and includes crystal chandeliers and antique framed mirrors providing a cosy cocoon feel.
To ensure even the smaller details delivered on style, Wandsworth Electrical, Classic Collection was installed throughout the hotel. Finished in a contemporary antique bronze with rockers, the light switches were conveniently placed, including next to the bedheads. Plug sockets with integrated USB sockets were also installed through-out the rooms. Special media plates were created, using our bespoke design and manufacturing service. These specially created plates had Euro mods with Satellite, TV and HDMI ports, again finished in antique bronze.
Having been handcrafting designer light switches and plug sockets for over 100 years, leading designers, architects and specifies have chosen Wandsworth Electrical, time and again, to provide the small power elements to help enhance interiors in iconic properties. In hotels that aim to deliver the ultimate vacation experience, our beautiful switches and sockets ensure every element provides a first-class experience.
