The former Parkes Hotel, located in Prime Central London’s Beaufort Gardens, has undergone an extraordinary transformation in one of the most prestigious apartment developments in London. 41-43 Beaufort Gardens, nestled in the vibrant area of Knightsbridge has now reached completion after a dedicated two-year process of bringing the design vision to life. The upscale location is renowned for its stunning residential surrounding area that boasts phenomenal architecture and the luxury retailers including Harrods that are situated nearby.
Originally developed by Jeremiah Little in 1861-1870, the six-storey townhouses at 41-43 Beaufort Gardens, featured grand brick facades and large arched windows that reflected the character and beauty of the era.
Conceptualised by visionary Parisian designer Pierre Yovanovitch, the project has seen the renowned Italianate townhouses of the Parkes Hotel transformed into nine incredible apartments. The designer has previously worked on regal interior design projects for Pierre Cardin, Hermes and Christian Louboutin and wanted to craft a luxury interior that merged contemporary style with the rich Victorian heritage of the street. Leveraging space, light and attention to detail was the priority throughout the interior design plans.
Discover One of The Most Exclusive Luxury Developments in London
A strategic collaboration of Felix Giorgetti, Aerium, Axis, Charu Ghandi and Elicyon brought together a variety of expertise to make the £91million residential development possible.
Located in one of London’s most sought-after boroughs, the project showcases six lateral apartments, a duplex penthouse and two triplex townhouses featuring private entrances. Lift access is available to all apartments and the complex will feature a residents-only concierge service, gym, treatment room and sauna.
The design objectives were to retain the existing heritage façade, parapet levels and overall building height of the three townhouses, to adhere to the stunning neighbouring buildings in Knightsbridge. The project aimed to enhance the appearance of the rear elevation and roofscape and transform the interiors of each property, harnessing the unique visions of the design team. A new single central core was introduced to maximise natural light in each of the apartments and help create an opulent, spacious aesthetic.
Award-winning interior design studio Elicyon envisioned a unique look for the residential homes that emulated the flow of water with an ink blue colour palette. Subtle blue hues and sculptural furniture pieces were hand-selected as a tribute to “the lost river of Knightsbridge”. Paying homage to the historical roots of Knightsbridge, when the area was a bridge over the River Westbourne, the design team crafted a contemporary interior that exudes elegance, style and luxury. Other elements of the design scheme including the high ceilings and elegant panelled walls, taking inspiration from the architecture of Madrid, Rome and Paris as well as the heritage of Knightsbridge and Kensington.
